Inspired by her own evacuation story new-mom Amy Emery decided to start a Summer 2017 Fire Babies Facebook Group.

The 亚洲天堂 Lake Community Garden is looking great after receiving multiple upgrades this summer, including the addition of a wheelchair-accessible outhouse, a water line extension, new beds and a garden shed, which works as an information kiosk to keep gardeners informed and connected.

Last week, locals Chloe Schroeder (L), Hadasa Finstad (M) and Tephilla Finstad sold vegetables in front of the College of New Caledonia such as carrots and lettuce that they grew themselves over the summer. This was their first year of successful gardening.

The 亚洲天堂 Lake and District Community Foundation Society has recently distributed $1000 to the Grassy Plains Strong Start program for play equipment. Founded in 2006, the Community Foundation has distributed well over $100,000 to successful organizations throughout the Lakes District.

Local residents Brian Fisher and Dennis Remanda recently had a great day of fishing at Francois Lake, catching a 21 pounder and an 11 pounder char respectively.

The 亚洲天堂 Lake and District Community Foundation Society has recently distributed $3500 to the Lakes District Senior Citizen Housing Association for Carroll Cottage upgrades. Founded in 2006, the Community Foundation has distributed well over $100,000 to successful organizations throughout the Lakes District.

Supreme court judge Russell Brown (R), who grew up in 亚洲天堂 Lake, was recently given a tour of the salmon counting fence located near Fort Babine by Lake Babine Nation Chief Wilf Adam.
