Lake Babine Nation members and a 亚洲天堂 Lake RCMP officer marched along Hwy. 16 on Nov. 14, 2017 with signs that said 鈥渙ne day at a time鈥� and 鈥渟trength comes with allowing others to help鈥� to raise awareness of alcohol and other drug-related harm.

Local residents Wren Gilgan and Lyle Phillips have recently cleared 16 trees along the Red Johnson Trail (sometimes called the Ridler Trail), which commences at the partially completed 亚洲天堂 Lake Provincial Park campground, about 5.5 km south of 亚洲天堂 Lake on Hwy. 35.

The Lakes District Arts Council (LDAC) has recently donated $2000 to Lakes District Secondary School for the upgrading of the multipurpose room鈥檚 lights, sound and projection system. According to LDAC, the new upgrades will make the school better equipped to host performances.

鈥業 felt their loss, and wanted to reach out to them鈥� says Harpaul Nandhra.

Local volunteers have worked hard to clear trails affected by a recent windstorm at the Boer Mountain and Kager Lake recreation sites. According to the 亚洲天堂 Lake Mountain Biking Association, approximately 40 trees came down just on the Kager Lake trail. Armed with hand saws and chainsaws, crews have assessed each of the trails.
